FAQs:

1.  Do I have to be a good swimmer?

A basic skill level is necessary to be able to enjoy swimming as an exercise, but many people join us with no competitive experience and some new swimmers only know one or two strokes.  We are excited to help you improve your technique and learn more about a great lifetime sport.

2.  I’m a triathlete, can this help me?

Many triathletes simply hit the pool a couple times a week and put in a 30 minute swim.  With masters you can receive well planned interval training and benefit from the challenge of teammates and a coach.

3.  Do I have to join the YMCA?

You do not have to join the YMCA to participate with the masters program.  Your access will be limited to the pool and the masters practice times if you do not join the YMCA.

4.  What is the cost?

Effective January 1, 2010
Y Members: $50 per four month season
Non-Members: $100 per four month season.
We run 3 seasons: Jan - April, May - August, Sept - Dec.

5.  Can I just try it out once before I committ?

You betcha!  We’d love for you to come in and give masters a try.  If it’s for you, then we’ll get you registered.

6.  Who is the coach?

Sue Mann has been our masters coach for many seasons.  She was a decorated competitive swimmer herself and continues to compete with our masters team.
