Who manages the RAYS program?
The RAYS program is a parent run organization. A board of directors, voted upon by the general membership, meets monthly and works throughout the year to make decisions on how to best serve our swimmers and their families. Directors complete a two year term and half of the board is replaced each year. The head coach and assistant head coach are permenent and voting members of the board of directors. Their participation helps to ensure a professional coaching perspective is provided on all water related issues.
Who can join RAYS?
Almost anyone can join RAYS. We have a pre-team for swimmers ages 5 and up. We have competitive groups for swimmers 6 - college. And we have a masters team for adult swimmers and triathletes. While most of our swimmers are Forest Hills School District students, we have swimmers from all over the greater Grand Rapids area who come to swim with us. Financial assistance is provided for those who qualify.
