2010 Michigan YMCA 8 and Under State Championships

Date and Time: Sunday, February 21, 2010 8:30 am Warm-up, 9:30 am Start
Eligibility: Only certified associations are eligible to compete in this event. An association is a YMCA unit that is 1) certified by the National Board, 2) holds an association, branch, or unit number, 3) is eligible for separate listing in the YMCA directory. A branch, department, or center of a Metropolitan Association is considered an association for purposes of this event.
A swimmer must be a full-time member of the YMCA he/she represents for at least 60 days prior to this event and must have represented only that YMCA in any open competition that he/she participated in during the current season, Sept. 1, 2009 through April 30, 2010. A swimmer may not represent more than one YMCA in competitive sports. Swimmers must also have represented that single YMCA in at least 3 interassociation YMCA meets during the current season.
The swimmer’s age is determined by his/her age as of December 1, 2009.
Entry Fees: $4.00 per event (individual and relay)
Marshaling: Marshaling will take place on deck. Relay cards will be provided to coaches at the beginning of each session. They must be returned to the Meet Scorer with swimmers’ names and swim order 30 minutes prior to the start of the session.
Awards: Awards will be given for places 1-12 in individual events and places 1-6 in relays. Trophies will be awarded for first through sixth place and rosette ribbons will be awarded for places 7-12.
Team Scoring: Team points will be awarded based on the top twelve finishes as follows:

Deck
Personnel: Only swimmers, coaches, and meet workers are allowed on deck.
Admission: $5.00 for adults and children 13-and-over. Children 12-and-under are no charge.
Program: A one-day program will be available for $4.00.
Concessions: Food and beverages will be available in the adjacent hallway.
First Aid: Available in the control room located on deck.
Timers: RAYS are asked to provide two timers. Please email me if you have interest in timing (rayscoach@hotmail.com)
General: Smoking is not allowed in Waterford Public Schools. No glass is permitted on deck. Body oil or rubdown substances are prohibited.
